BACKYARD CHECKLIST!
1. Plant local native plants! These are the plants that evolved here with local fauna.
2. Provide flowering and fruiting native plants. A variety of plants = a variety of animals.
3. Limit lawn and, where possible, remove exotic plants.
4. Provide clean water.
5. Provide habitats - logs, rocks, hollows, mulch.
6. Embrace some mess. Nature is not neat nor should all of your yard be....
7. Grow some food and some native food.
8. Enclose pets.
9. Learn about nature and wildlife.
10. Avoid chemical use.

When you join Backyards for Biodiversity SEQ you will receive
SHARE your progress. We love to share stories about new gardens and verges, successful frog ponds and nest boxes, insect inventories and photographs of backyard creatures.

If you have an organisation that you believe would like to hear about Backyards for Biodiversity SEQ, our plans and rationale - please email ken@backyardsforbiodiversity.org
